Chad Hengemuhle
Founder and President

Chad founded Up North Aero after a 20-year career in aviation leadership, including senior roles at Compass Airlines Technical Operations and service in the Minnesota Air National Guard (USAF). He holds an MBA from Concordia University, St. Paul, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Aviation Maintenance Management from St. Cloud State University. Chad is a certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic and leads Up North Aero with a hands-on, strategic focus on advancing aerospace excellence.
Renee Hengemuhle
Vice President of Administration and Business Development
Building stronger teams, building stronger partnerships
Renee oversees Up North Aero’s administrative operations and business development efforts, combining 15 years of aviation industry experience with over a decade of HR leadership. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from St. Mary’s University and is passionate about fostering collaboration, operational strength, and community engagement.
Bryan Mathison
Director of MRO Operations
Precision in maintenance. Excellence in operations.
Bryan brings over 25 years of experience in airline maintenance, engineering, and mechanical reliability to his role as Director of MRO Operations. A certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic, he oversees all repair station activities with a commitment to safety, efficiency, and technical excellence.
Cory Einertson
Chief Inspector
Compliance driven. Quality focused
With over 22 years of leadership and technical experience in corporate and general aviation, Cory ensures Up North Aero’s operations meet the highest standards of regulatory and operational performance. As a certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic, he leads the oversight of the Quality Element, driving excellence in compliance, inspections, and maintenance programs.
